Solace is a 2015 American Mystery Thriller Film directed by Afonso Poyart and starring Anthony Hopkins, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Abbie Cornish. The screenplay for the film was originally planned and developed as a sequel to the 1995 thriller film Seven, but the idea was eventually scrapped and Solus was completed instead. The film was released through the Lionsgate Premiere on December 16, 2016. The movie tells the story of John Clancy (Anthony Hopkins), a psychic doctor who works with an FBI Special Agent (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) to find serial killer Charles Ambrose (Colin Farrell).
After her daughter’s death, psychic John Clancy, who lived in isolation for two years, enlists from her friend, FBI Special Agent Joe Meriwether, to help solve a series of murders committed by a serial killer. Merriweather’s partner, FBI Special Agent Dr. Katherine Cowles is skeptical of Clancy’s gift, but she soon finds out she isn’t. When the killer Charles Ambrose is finally revealed, the three vie to stop him before he commits murder again.
